HUMAN CENTRIC LIGHTING

Human centric lighting refers to the consumers and businesses using LED technology to create the most effective and desirable environment. The most straightforward measure to achieve this environment is through colour changing LEDs. LED light is often a better option due to the broader quality of light and smoother colour spectrum, which is closer to that of the sun than other artificial lights. Ultimately, installing LED lights that can change colour and smart LED systems to automate this process, consumers can have more blue light during the day, and more warm light during the later hours, simulating natural light from the sun. Researchers correlate exposure to natural-like colours to better mental states and increased productivity. Another significant measure to develop effective and desirable environments is the dimming feature and occupancy sensing capability. Not only can LEDs change colour, but they can also be dimmed, resulting in a smoother and better flow alongside natural light. Occupancy sensors, generally fitted with motion or heat sensing technology, are essential to reduce unnecessary operation of lights and ultimately, unnecessary power consumption. This measure is not only convenient and cost efficient, but also great for the environment.

IOT – THE INTERNET OF THINGS

This term refers to the ever-expanding range of devices that support internet connectivity, and can communicate via the internet. This connectivity simplifies and automates the much-needed process of controlling large quantities of lights and complex spaces in simple control structures. However, that would hardly be the only IoT application. IoT compatible LED lighting could be the core of systems that optimize air conditioning and heating, power grid management, and even next-generation wireless communications.

LiFi

LiFi is the most recent and industry-changing concept in lighting. The basic concept of LiFi is the use of lights rather than radio waves to transfer data, with proven transfer speeds up to 100 times faster! Having Li-Fi integrated into the LED lighting would create an alternate path for internet connectivity in commercial spaces and offices, where internet connectivity can sometimes pose a problem.
